Unusually among liberal Jewish movements in the United States, Humanistic Judaism has not taken a public position on capital punishment. What does Humanistic Judaism have to say about the death penalty, and why is there no official statement on the topic? What is happening in Israel with the death penalty? Should Humanistic Jews be particularly concerned with it, and if so, why? We’ll look at these and other questions in this session.
