Machar offers a wealth of opportunities for people of any age who want to learn about Judaism in a humanistic context.
Our Jewish Cultural School programming through the Collaborative Jewish Sunday School offers children from Kindergarten to Seventh Grade education that integrates Jewish history, culture, values, and practice into a developmentally appropriate curriculum at each grade level. We also provide post-mitzvah aged teens an opportunity to play a leadership role by having them assist in our classrooms and helping to organize community service activities on behalf of the congregation.
During Adult Education programs, we engage in lifelong learning as we listen to our fellow members and guest speakers on a variety of topics centered around themes of Judaism, Humanism, and other social, humanitarian, or personal issues. There is always plenty of time for questions and discussion.
We also have other educational programming throughout the year, including occasional special courses led by our rabbi or other community members. Topics have included sessions on understanding classic Jewish texts, Jewish philosophy, and the Jewish holidays.
And you can always check out our archive of online educational programming on YouTube.
