Machar began as a community of volunteers who worked together to create a Humanistic Jewish congregation. Our members are still Machar’s best supporters and advocates, and all are welcome to volunteer to help build our community.
There are lots of ways to volunteer, and even the smallest help is a great help.
Regular volunteer opportunities include:
- Hosting an event
- Joining the Member Care Committee to welcome new members and coordinate events
- Bringing food and supplies or helping with setup or cleanup at Machar events
- Participating as a reader, speaker, or co-leader at holiday or Shabbat programs
- Performing or emceeing at our annual Coffeehouse fundraiser
- Joining the Machar Choir
- Working a table at a community event to introduce Machar to others
- Serving on a committee related to our school, fundraising efforts, adult education program, or other activities
